at a time when we need to focus on the core things that keep us centered and happy like family, friends, faith, helping others I did one of the things that keeps me happy and reminded me that the future will be OK; beach at first light; a little wet, a little cold and not a bump; felt so good to remember what we are looking forward to; restored me a little....back at dusk; as George Harrison told us...All Things Must Pass

Amen Bill.
I went after shad yesterday and landed 17 or 18 Americans despite the wind howling down the river at 20 to 30 mph. I didn't see one other person fishing though I did meet a buddy (at a very safe distance) as he was walking in.
I think the experience was healthy and soul soothing.

in the water from 3-530, lots of bunker, if they count i landed 8 foul hooked, if not season total is still 0.

It is amazing to me also that there were only a handful of people fishing there and few kayaks only, by the time I left loaded with boats and kayaks.

Did this happen back in the day before cell phones?

Fished outfront yesterday, even the fish are practicing social distancing, they stayed away from me. Not a tap.

Bay, I expect that the next couple warm days are going to loosen things up, especially up in your neighborhood. I have great expectations anyway.
I'm torn up over the decision on whether to do my social distancing in salt water or fresh. The shad are going to be very frisky and the drive for me is so much easier...

Asteroids?!?! Do I need to buy more tp?!?!?!?
My town closed beaches last night : ?beaches closed effective 7:30 pm 4/4/20 until further notice pursuantto exec order 107 compelling residents to remain at primary home?. But new vacation (rental) home building continues without abatement.🤷X♂️

Jim,
There is not a circus tent big enough to cover both sides of Matawan creek!

Finally I went out yesterday ( Sunday) on the kayak in Raritan Bay...a lot of people in parking lot and tons of boats out there ( social distancing anyyone?) ...very nice day...no wind in the morning with water temps reaching 50F.. I have been trolling for most of the time and ended up with 9 fish , 5 keepers with one being close to 30 lbs ( on boga in the kayak thus not very accurate). All fish were released and still swimming. It was nice to get out and feel that fresh ocean breeze...the interesting fact was that only one lure caught all the fish ( tried at least 5-6 different ones). Silver x-rap was the ticket yesterday.
