Default Caronageddon!

This new virus that has shut down the country as well as tanked your investments, is also going to effect your fishing to be sure. The states are shutting down interstate travel so if you live in Connecticut, for example, you are not going to be allowed to travel into RI for fishing. RI guys who want to fish with Jason in Quincy are not going to be allowed to come into Mass. Living in Jersey you won't be allowed to go to Long Island to fish Montauk; nor New Yorkers to Jersey.

In a few weeks my wife and I plan to hunt turkeys. They have already closed all the state game lands in the town where we live. People can't even walk in these places now so it is a cinch we won't be allowed to hunt.

RI sold us a non-res hunting license but they are not issuing turkey permits to out-of-staters so we are screwed in that deal.

Some beach and fishing areas people don't use their heads and congregate too closely. Deb and I were supposed to go to a beach area near Savannah, GA next month...it's recently been closed with a possible $1K fine for violating that order. My social distancing skills are fine on trout streams because I intentionally cast sloppily to scare off people. Deb and I are lucky in that we are able to work during all this...and unlucky that it happens to be in a hospital. We've both had either patients, families, or coworkers that had been exposed, ill, or tested positive for/to Covid-19. We wear masks enough on a normal workday...continuously now. Between rebreathing all that CO2, and washing with Purell close to 30 times in a ten hour day, I'm starting to wonder if that has any long term effect. They (NYC) have started dispersing some of their patients to upstate hospitals. "My place"...Albany Medical Center...has gotten a few...

Like SAL said, NYS did open its trout season Apr 1st and the last I have heard it's still a go with distancing. I believe parks up here are still open with the same distancing rules but I did hear Saratoga State park is closed for walkers. Can't confirm.
When I'm not working, wife and I try to get out walking in the neighborhood but, It's not like the beach or the woods. Even the range I shoot muzzleloaders at is,,,,,, closed.

State governments are taking this isolation thing too far. What difference does it make if a person goes out in the woods hunting all by himself? When we see other hunters we go the other way anyway for safety and so as not to compete, But no, government will go too far as usual.

RI governor Gina Ramando turned RI into a police state targeting out-of-state license plates, especially NY. In the People's Republic of Massachusetts, state parks where people have been out walking, even social distancing, the Governor has barred entry in the parks. The cure is becoming worse than the disease.

Let?s see how that goes over.
Up here NYS Police won?t even pull over for speeding. There used to be so many traffic stops on 87 within 4 or 5 miles and now they just sit in the middle and watch you go by.

Yep, supposedly for the public safety....yet I went to a nursery yesterday and bought a tree, guess nurseries are essential business in NJ...gun shops not essential, nurseries, essential. One can only assume that the governor wants to make sure the landscaping looks good on his own mansion in Red Bank.

Everybody is out walking for something to do. So our rocket science governors close all the parks. So people are finding places to walk that did not get closed.

I know of at least two governors who are not going to be re-elected next election -- Mass and RI.

I wish NJ was on that list.

These governors don't know what to do. The C-19 is not something they were able to prepare for.

Also, the press is scaring the sh** out of everybody. Notice that once news got a little better how quick Wall St indices improved. (Though I don't think the volatility is over.)
