We enjoy reading your reports. Surf, boats, fresh water are all good.. Pictures are even better.
Good luck, have fun and be safe.

Thumbs down Re: August 2015 Fishing Reports

Went out Sunday morning for a few hours.
Between the big heater in the sky and the flies we decided it was time to go.
Didn't see anything caught while were were there.

fished incoming tide at SH yesterday evening.

five shorts and my first stargazer.

you'll all probably laugh, but I thought I remembered reading a post that they can shock you via a spot on the top of their head. after unhooking I grabbed it by the tail and pulled it back to the water and as soon as it it was at the water's edge it starts thrashing back and forth and completely submerges itself in the sand.

Late report from Saturday morning.....three shorts dropped about a dozen....choppy and windy....saw a lot of fish caught.... Few double headers....all shorts and robins....snappers blasting bait out of the water everywhere....watched a big egret grab one and park 20ft from me for a meal

Out front at sandy hook for 3 hours this morning, skunked. Strong west wind. Just missed a rough storm, moved out to sea just south of us, although we did get rained on. Went to keansburg pier for 3 hours. First and last time going there. We weren't impressed after spending $25 to get on the pier.

Went out this evening with Bay to his "Honey hole" I think the Bear ate all the honey. We moved further out and I nailed 9 Fluke with two keepers. I think Bay got 7 or 8. Lots of Bunker and rain fish in close. Hope they stick around for awhile. Beautiful night with no bugs of any kind around, that's always a bonus

2 short fluke for me this AM. Had to leave after an hour and a half because the snappers took all my gulp tails
Tons of bait= spearing, both big and tiny.

That's one of the many reasons it is annoying to catch them. Cant they tell you are just trying to help?

I had one that buried himself before I even got a chance to start taking the hook out - had to yank him out of the sand by the leader.

Wish I had that gulp problem this year like I had last year. I got 8 tubs of juice left from last year. Today managed 5 short fluke, the blackflies were active tons of bunker in the wash, had a rough time getting to the bottom without snagging them.

Netted up some mullet and hit the beach for a few hours before sundown. Low tide and surfers galore. Managed 4 shorts and lots of swings and misses. Good way to break in a new Stradic 5000FJ
