Default "the Vineyard"

I'm making my first pilgrimage to Martha's Vineyard this spring. Can anyone recomend good reading material to get aquaited with the island (from a surfcaster's perspective) before I get there? Tips or ideas to make the trip successful are certainly welcome, too!

Thanks!!

Hopefully you get some good tips here, I'm interested myself. Got married there a few yrs back right on the beach and it looked like a sweet place. For a small island it sure is a bit confusing once there. I was there in Oct but, left the tackle home for that trip. I did see some prime casting areas though and did check out the south facing beach area and there is allot of beach there.
Very nice island which hopefully I get to explore more of.

Be sure to check out the big cove between Lobsterville and the entrance to Menemsha Pond

Islands are nice since you get lots of current and they are natural fish magnets. I haven't fished the Vineyard but I've fished Nantucket. I would pay close attention to:

1. The corners of the island where rips are more pronounced.
2. Any inlets.
3. The south/west shore which is natural and pristine. Catching a sunrise might be as good as catching a fish.
