I've been told they school up, so can be hit or miss.

We missed. Our first spot was on the bulkhead right in Mays Landing. We tried for a couple hours or so and had a number of taps, but no real hookups.
A guy stopped by then and said that they were slaying them by the bridge in Green Bank, but parking was real tough. We drove the 20 minutes that way and must have been in the wrong place because there were no fish and no fishermen. By then we were cold and hungry and headed home.
I do feel like we were dialed in on rigs and tackle, so that will serve us to improve our confidence next time we try this fishery.

"parking is tough" is an understatement. I don't think they really want anyone fishing that bridge in greenbank, but locals do.

I thought it was a good idea to send him 80 miles in the wrong direction

Finally emptied my plug bags, removed about 20 rusty hooks, washed the plugs and only stabbed myself 4 times

Helpful hint= Mr. Clean Magic Eraser removes rust stains from the body of the plug

Report- it's over.

Thanks for the hint of the magic eraser, i spent the afternoon replacing treables and inline single hooks on the tail. Actually it wasn?t hard, i only used one red/white magdarter and a RG Glider all fall

keeps it simple I suppose.

nice tip on the magic eraser!

btw, spoke with a yak angler yesterday, he only found real small white perch in the creek he fished, so it is hit or miss on the big ones.

Hey guys long time no post

I'm retiring from the post office after 32 years, so I hope to be more active on the water and online.

I made several surf trips to nomoco in December and caught some schoolies on soft plastic - nothing too exciting. I wasn't able to fish in January because of some medical issues, but I'm ready to get going again.

Going tomorrow - trying to decide between schoolies and some big carp that might eat a fly. I will report back with the results.

Rob - no excuses this spring, I'll be in touch

The pic of my son is from 12/27 and the one with my ugly face is from 12/30.

We fished Asbury today, starting around 9:15 this morning. No fish, but the conditions were ideal: light west wind, falling tide and crystal clear water. I was going to post a couple of scenery pics, but I figured you know what the beach looks like

So no fish, but a great way to spend a couple of hours on a February day. Stopped by Long Branch on the way home to take a look at the beach replenishment project. It looks like they're done, but signs are still up warning about sinkholes. There was plenty of people walking on the beach anyway. Maybe we'll give this area a shot next time.
