Got out of work today at 130 and gave a local area a shot in search of some white perch. I had 2 short taps and soon after that an 18 inch bass came out to play.
Quick photo and release. Sure with i had my tag kit with me.

FYI, a friend of a friend spotted pods of bunker in the deep channels of the Raritan bay. The waters still too cold for any bass to be chasing them. Did see a few empty worm boxes in the bay shore area, with some empty modelo cans in the area. Must be fishing for white perch or just didn?t know bass was closed till 3/1 . Or they could be fishing for flounder. Kinda hard to catch a flounder on a whole worm with a 4/0 hookk

Sounds like the beginning of a circumstantial poaching case....so let's start with who is selling the suspects the worms??

well ready to return north this week; putting the house in Avalon up for sale; about to finalize purchase of one in East Hampton, NY; much more for my wife to do all Summer and much easier for daughter and friends to visit for weekends...it is a bear to get to south Jersey on Friday night from the City...and I'm in Mets country; wife was concerned that I would miss fishing in Avalon which is really good late April to early June in the surf; she had never heard of Montauk which is a 25 min drive from new house...I will tough it out; finished Florida this week with 16 different species taken in salt water; and hoping to meet up with as many of you as possible this spring...and looking at pics it seems like spring may be starting; can the 15+ lb blues be far away

I have to go to a council meeting next Wednesday night in my town, they want to introduce a ordnance limiting the night fishing hrs on our local beach. The condo association is complaining about The so called ?Fisherman? that are slobs, building fires, parking where they shouldn?t, being loud in the middle of the night, just like every other Bayshore town.i have to agree with them on that. In THERE country I guess it?s common to be slobs. But, I have been fishing that beach for 55 yrs. I was fishing on that beach before some of those condo owners were born. I knew it would happen sooner or later.

This was a pretty hot topic on a fb group that I follow. Right away people accusing others of being racists. I fish over there in the spring (from my boat) and it is what it is - little Mexico. Maybe it's cultural and some education would help. I know that if I lived there I'd be losing my mind.

They're yelling, drinking (getting wasted), running back and forth to their vehicles (either to stash fish or get more beer), starting fires, etc. It's a shit show.

Instead of closing the area maybe some regular visits by law enforcement?? What makes anyone think that "closing" the area at night will stop them from coming??

They ignore every other law and regulation - why would anyone think they will follow this one?

It?s not just Spanish, it?s the European, the Far East, and some of our white folk too who are slobs and don?t respect others . I read the ordnance, they want to have the beach closed from dusk till dawn. But yet you can still stroll the walkway till 10 or 11. And what about those same home owners who walk there dogs early in the morning or after sunset on that beach, are they going to get tickets, I don?t think so.
