Spring is in the air, although it is not quite the weather fans will enjoy for the Pirates - Cardinals game, it is TIME!

Might be a long season for the Mets... starting off the way they finished up.

Re: Batter Up! Play Ball!!
longer for the Bombers me thinks ...this is the 2nd year ( since Jeter retired ) NO TICKET PURCHASES just know the entertainment is not worth $$$
I do get free O 's most of the year , I'll be miserable watching from the TV . Today's game 1pm oops rain out !
watched the Mets yesterday w/ the Big Boss she told me " that the left fielder won gold glove w/ the Tigers last year " sure did not show it !

Re: Batter Up! Play Ball!!
I joined the Yankee Universe because I go to one game a year with a few of my kids, and the deal is too good to pass up. Basically gets you down to field level seats for the price of upper deck seats.
Today's game is postponed officially until tomorrow.
As for TV, I can't stand the phillies, so have the MLB app and can get many games that way, including most Yankee games since I'm "out of market". I don't have to worry about Yes not being on Comcast
since it isn't offered where I live, except by Dish I suppose, but I'm not getting Satellite anytime soon.

Re: Batter Up! Play Ball!!
I've got the drill now, going down Harlem River drive and over the Macombs Dam(N) bridge. Parking is a lot of $$, but eh, I give up complaining. Actually, in the right conditions, you can park for free on the HR drive side, but still is a hassle getting out no matter what.

Re: Batter Up! Play Ball!!
Traffic wise its part of the game ...they like me to drive so they can drink their full of beer @ 9 -11 $ a pop And now you can get mixed drinks who know what that costs ...I usually get the keys .
When I was a kid we would jump the turnstile @ 161 st hope the cop would not be too young for the chase .
Do they have a ferry from NJ ? like the Highlands ?

Re: Batter Up! Play Ball!!
Got to go to a spring training game for the first time this year. Yankees vs. O's and, of course, the Yanks won (O's had a terrible spring... not a great sign, though Buck may pull out some magic)
Brother in laws go down every year, one has ESPN press credentials he conned off somebody so they get in, B-games and they also stayed in the same hotel the team stays to chat up their buddies. Obviously, they are HUGE O's fans.
They are friends with several players and coaches, get them casino comp's and in trade get into back/VIP treatment when it's not a hardship on their connections. So I get the scoop on the O's.
Looking forward to baseball.

Re: Batter Up! Play Ball!!
Good for you Spring training in Tampa great town we also go down & mingle w/ the snow birds . One thing about going down to see the Bombers in Tampa ...no 15 $ GW Bridge toll, 40 $ parking & 1 hr & 1/2 in traffic . Don't you miss it ?

Re: Batter Up! Play Ball!!
It was awesome... plan on going again some time.
I will say the traffic LEAVING was almost like NYC traffic. Not the worst of NYC
metro traffic, but say a "normal work day" level of traffic.
Tampa traffic at the I4/I75 intersection during the spring S U C K S big time. Then again, it was Friday afternoon

Re: Batter Up! Play Ball!!
Tampa is not a small USA city it has a lot to offer , sure you get your days of jams of travel. But once you learn the seasonal pattern of fishing , there is no better place than Tampa Bay & off shore & I have been to a lot of places to fish the more you go down you will give up the Striped ones for the acrobatics of Mr. Snook grand kids will like Treasure Island , parents like St Pete's beach that where my head lies
