Cool Thanx! Now I have another option.

I'm looking forward to my next trip. Since the water is cold I have something to shoot for.

Hey Jose - it's nice to see another New Yorker posting here! It is early, but not by much. Those dark clouds of bait you saw were probably bunker - there isn't much else here in significant number right now. I'm in Staten Italy - the general striper schedule here goes like this: the first bunker of the year usually arrive by St. Patty's Day. Right behind them are the schoolie bass - they can't eat them, but they seem to arrive right after them. By the second week of April, the first big bass are here.

The arrival of fish near you is probably very similar to that general timetable. Try not to burn too many of your fishing days before they get here

Good luck this year & let's keep posting

Hey Brokenrod,

That sounds about right, because I've gone out about three or four times but this last time seemed to be the most promising. You called it right on the nose. So if your schedule is still on point, I should see those little schoolies next week or so.

I have a customer is Staten Italy, and he was showing me some of the spots around there. That pier on the beach looks awesome. Do you ever go there or if you fish around SI I would be happy to come down and join you? Just PM me if you ever need a buddy.

Thanks again,
Jose

If you can't enjoy it why do it?

There is so much more to it than the act itself. I am always amazed that living so deeply in the city that I am litterally 10 minutes away from enjoying the heavenly glory of nature.

I can go to the same spot every day and always notice something new or inspiring. The seasons change as well as the conditions. The circumstances and the challenges change but if one stops just for a second to notice what GOD has put before us, there isn't a cigarette in the world that could take my breath away more than the wonders of nature has.

How lucky are we who take part in enjoying what we have here?
