surely understanding.... but for us about 25 miles north of the Bx the Metro North w/ no stadium parking fee / traffic is a bonus. # 1 son & the office gang will be there on Fri. evening.

I have to admit, no matter how lousy their respective divisions are playing right now, I NEVER thought I'd see the Mets, no less the Yankees, in first place 1/3 way through the season.

No matter when the swoon comes for either or both teams. If they can keep the juice up for another month (or beyond), then it's been a successful season in my mind.

Yeah, if your team goes in the toilet in September, it's never fun, but to me at least their is some juice in the games until then.

Then again, who knows? Maybe their divisions really ARE that bad (though I expect Baltimore to turn it around, they did let their big bat walk over the winter, and everyone thinks this is still the Nats time to shine)

agree with Rob. The Mets have shown the start of a nice rebound. Lets let D'arNaud get back to form; Flores a 20+ HR guy?; DeGrom proving he is the real deal; Colon...just gotta love it; lets get Murphy back; Harvey facing a test to see who he really is...can he work thru the nights when he does not have his great stuff...these guys are still young !!! Tejada?? Familia...don't miss other closers at all. All in all we have taken some nice steps. Big question is David Wright

The Mets will have to make 2 roster moves today. I think Herrera lost his chance to make an impression.

So it was Recker. I forgot all about him. Probably because he was at the end of the bench. Herrera had a real good game Sunday.

almost.....magic.

if that starts happening in late August and you're still in it, you will look back at games like this and really glow, because these are what magic seasons are made of.

in the other boro, the Yanks slipped out of first, no fault of Tanaka's though he was really getting hit hard early. If I had to guess () they won't be back on top the rest of the season, and maybe next.

great to have d'Narnaud back...can't spell his name....you can feel his return. Lagares starting to hit; Flores stays Flores; and Syndergard comes back from 2 off starts to go 6 innings, 2 hits, Ks 11 vs hottest offensive team in baseball. Its what we need the young pitchers to do. Need the Murphy bat back and hope its true that we see a healthy Wright at All Star break. I feel good about where this team is; now if the fluke will start biting in thre surf

Yanks won last night, Pineda looked great.

Wierd replay call by the umps. Runner initially called safe, replay crew overturned the call.

I watched the replays available online about 10 times and I would left the call on the field alone: safe.

The only angle that may have helped is the one from the dugout showing the tag essentially hit the knee instantaneously, then the overhead camera shows when that tag came down relative to the foot.

(ok, no one else but me cares ) So, what do you guys think of "replay" in bball this year so far?

I like the replay. Well not really but the alternative is worse, bad calls changing games.
