Re: Yanks / Mets
Whowever it is, has to defer to the front office "stats" men nowadays. Apparently, Cash and team want to have a say in everything now: lineup, pitchers you name it. Perhaps when players can tie their shoes.

Re: Yanks / Mets
I heard Mike On the Fan yesterday . Mike is a big supporter of Joey G , that might be somewhat true . How much ? we all don’t know . JG is a huge stats guy and you can’t go against true stats . But when a guy/s are hot
He would still stick with the stats .
They go out and get DH Holiday and don’t use him Astros / Cleveland. Who decided that ?

Not sure if we will know the truth. But Girardi is gone and whoever comes in will have a great start

Re: Yanks / Mets
What happens in a lot of major sports teams ( NBA , NFL , WNBA) the franchise/ highest played players seem to want control . I think it’s happening with the Sox , not Yankees but very well with the Nats. Players with high salaries long terms contract can possibly control the business / owners . Like a great chef in a restaurant usually when making great profits ends up with more percentage earning than the owner . Becomes a partner/ owner if not walks and opens their own store

Re: Yanks / Mets
And that is what turns me off the NBA... and contributed (though the flag business exacerbated it) with me not watching the NFL. Baseball has always had it's rich yahoos, well yahoos in general... even before the big big salaries... but had kept the basics intact. If managers can't manage, it's a sad state of affairs.

Re: Yanks / Mets
As we get old we can’t except the time we have to live in a “Time Warp”. . I had a neighbor “ Pat Corklin “ R.I.P. WWII vet , family man believed in God but could not get over the hippie generation running the country . I have not watch NFL/ NBA in two years . International baseball is where it will be for future generations to come . They are talented ball players . And they like to put on a show . The new public likes it . Drives me crazy but that’s where it’s going .
Good WS games games no complaints for me .

Re: Yanks / Mets
the only sport left where the spoiled young yahoo brats don't run the show is hockey; cut your face, 8 stitches, miss 2-3 shifts and get back on the ice; anybody acts like an idiot and I see a 5 min major about to happen; but it is just real good team effort

Re: Yanks / Mets
Roy Halladay - died doing what he loved. But died too young.
There's something wrong with that plane he had... it's a new design and earlier this year 2 employees of the manufacturer crashed in it.
However, he was only flying a year. Experienced pilots tell me that young (ie inexperienced) pilots need to stick with a proven, more forgiving, design for a long time before venturing into higher performance aircraft.
May his family find peace.
