The good news is that Harvey was dominant. The bad news is that he has an agent named Boras

I can name about 8 NJ kids alone who have had their careers ended early due to shoulder injury . Wishing they had processional guidance like S.B. to represent them .

Also, never should an agent run a team. Either Harvey's own DR clears him to pitch, or he doesn't. Either Harvey decides (ok with his agent) to pitch, or he doesn't. If he takes the ball, he should be ready to pitch until the manager decides to take him out. Otherwise don't bother going out. Fine if he needs to wait until next year, just pull the plug and be done with it.

Some times in baseball there is a higher authority when a pitcher is to pitch than the Mgr. Sandy Kofax did not pitch / play on Saturdays

I could even buy that but in this case it's " In Cash We Trust "

Sandy stood on solid ground but never had an inning limit, until he made it zero by walking away

What, if the Mets through $100M on the table today, the inning limit would magically disappear? Is it $150M? $ 75M?

Scott Boras loves Scott Boras. He had no business making this public. No doubt it came up recently when the Mets clearly were looking like a playoff team as opposed to their position in May. But he should talk to his player and the team, if asked by the player, but let the team leaders talk with the player and decide that way. Let him go on a long trip with Suzann Petterson

What's the matter w/ cash ?...it's just as good as money !

can only listen the owner's BS for so long ...you as a professional need representative ask Ralph Kiner

You play for the name on the back of your uniform ..not the front

I think there is a real concern for the post surgery arm; money won't change that; just keep the agent out of public dialogue

There is concern for the arm only as far as money goes. He can make money and definitely needs to look out for himself. Grant all that. It's the on the field part that is inappropriate. Either pitch or don't. If you say you will take the ball, you better be ready to face the consequences of that game IF you are healthy.

If he had a $150M 5 year deal right now, you would not have heard *any* of this, surgery or not last year.

Sure, many will, and if the Mets screw this up, they won't have him.

My only beef has to do with Boras and on the field management, not his talent or desire for a big $ contract.

Like I wrote, either take the ball and pitch, or don't, but don't play games trying to manage the team by in-game innings or pitch limits, other than what would normally be done.
