Well they got the magic that the Giants used to beat them...twice.

they did and Edelman's " catch" was immediately compared to Tyree's
And you KNEW as soon as they won the coin toss, it was over.

Re: 2016 NFL Thread
I agree with Rob. They are the only two constants. There is a different roster every time they are in. I can't think of any player who shined while on the Patriots and signed with another team with any kind of success.

Re: 2016 NFL Thread
Tommy Best QB of all time & I grew up Unitas ,Staubach, Bradshaw, era Belecheat best coach also
Brady might be the most consistent professional athlete EVER & he's not finished , might be Palmer w/ 6 green jackets but he was in more masters & not won

Re: 2016 NFL Thread
Falcons showed inexperience in big game; score and clock on your side, 3rd and about 2 and you drop back to pass...sack and fumble...why???; in field goal range to ice game and pass again (why??); and sack; run twice (and run game was working) and kick; they showed poor play calling that gave Pats chance for what was an amazing comeback but without those 2 bad calls the game goes to Atlanta;

Re: 2016 NFL Thread
Bill,
You're right, those calls were inexplicable and definitely a result of letting the Pats get into their head.

Its all on the coach. Dan Quinn should have just attempted a FG. Bryant has a great leg. Field goal then, game won.
It reminded me of the SeaHawks game when they elected to pass instead of run to easily take the game. Pete Carroll just about got run out of town..

Re: 2016 NFL Thread
Just heard the Democrats are planning on protesting the New England Patriots win - They claim that the Atlanta Falcons are the true winners of the season.
For the entire 2016 regular season, the Atlanta Falcons scored a 540 points, whereas the Pats only totaled 441 points (putting them in 3rd place behind the Falcons and the Saints), therefore the Falcons are the true winners of this election game and it is only because of the arcane rules of the NFL that they Patriots were able to steal this win from the true winner.
In what world does the team that wins the most points not get crowned the winner? This is an outrage. #notmysuperbowl

Re: 2016 NFL Thread
Frank, sadly some would agree.
Joe, Quinn and Carroll are forever linked in superbowl lore.
