Default November & December Fishing Reports 2017

As always don't be to specific of an area your fishing.

We enjoy reading your reports. Surf, boats, fresh water are all good.. Pictures are even better.

Good luck, have fun and be safe.

(I posted this in October reports because I was overcome with excitement and forgot that the month had rolled on us.)

November 1, 2017:
Deo gracias! I finally had what I can call a good day's fishing!

I was able to get to IBSP in the mid-morning and saw nothing but guys leaving the beach and they all said that there weren't even dogfish biting. I went on down to where I could get access to the bay and spent almost 3 hours throwing a bucktail / teaser combo and catching schoolies of 18 to 24 inches, one 20" fluke (?!), and one hickory shad. When the fish came through they came hungry and I ended up with 15 officially caught stripers, 5 doubles, and another 4 that I didn't count because the lower fish of the double fell off while I was unhooking the other one.

One strange thing: I gave a guy who had no bucktails one of mine, same color (white), style and weight, and he fished it on a teaser rig like mine. We fished for more than 2 hours close enough to converse and he caught not one striper and only one smaller flattie of some sort. Then I even walked a couple hundred yards from him to let him spread out some, and I still caught fish and he still didn't. Go figure...
Cheers!

Here is some magic on the water that you get to see if you wake up early enough...black fishing again...numerous shorts with only one keeper...nice and relaxing day on the water.
Btw, note on the second photo school on bunker enjoying themselves without being harassed by predators...

November....time to hit out front in the Park for me this weekend. So, fair warning...the fish will be nowhere to be found because I am there.

Moco Out front in the afternoon with an incoming tide. Waist High swell and clear but choppy white water and a south wind. I threw darters, swim shads and poppers no takers, then went to the 3/4 ounce hammered spoon and caught a short fluke in the wash. Nice day to be out. No swim bait of birds observed.

Next week the fishing should be epic at the rip, yes it's a spot burn, but it ain't a spot this fall. The dredge will be there Monday

I hit a stretch of beach south of there that I had not visited since September. There was 25 yards or more of sand on the beach then had been there before. The channel must be filling in faster than usual. We all know why.

Lavalette at pre-dawn; very quiet; Sea Bright about 6;30 and the skunk died; one in the wash right at my feet; Kastmaster; thought it was a keeper by the fight but proved to be "Short Fat Fannie"; maybe 24in but a literal football of a short; round and feisty; good news was the bunker moving by; off shore but steady schools; nothing on them but good to see; hope by March it's cold enough for the fish to arrive
