Ditto.

I have to work in the morning, but plan to head east to the beach for the falling tide. High's around 2:15 or 2:25, I think. Lighter rod smaller lures.
If it's a west wind I think I'll start with bucktails. Weather looks brilliant! (I just checked...east wind in the PM per one source, south in another. I'll just have to go and see for myself.)
Good luck!

early morning in Lavalette area; low tide; like yesterday the schoolies were bigger and one keeper came up and the fish were out past the bar; needed a LONG cast with metals to reach them; locals think maybe sand eels have arrived and they are outside the bar; no fish in the wash that I saw; bite ended at about 8:30

more of the same today; schoolies mid 20-26 in range over the bar at first light; stopped by 8:30; smaller ones in the wash middle of the night (according to reports}; tons of birds circling but not intensely hitting the water; boats in close but boats and birds were marking bait not fish...IMHO; but still fish and fun; with the wind today came in from the bar really wet...but this is surf fishing

Tough day for us on black Friday; we got two decent bass right away in the lower 20# range and that was pretty much it for the rest of the day.

A lot of boat traffic around the area we got those two fish so we went looking for greener pastures but never found them. Ended up missing a couple other hits on live bunker and chafing off a bass on the prop.

Definitely the slowest fall bass trip for us so far...

On Saturday we went blackfishing and had difficult conditions.

Tried in a bunch of different areas and only ended up with five keepers on the day.

Out last night in Central MoCo. Caught two fish around 12". Lost another 3 simply because I was not paying attention. Its fun catching fish, but I haven't landed anything over 20" since the beginning of November.

My buddy Bill and I fished in Seaside and IBSP on the rising tide yesterday until about 3:00. Nada.
It sure looked beautiful, though!

I didn't snag any and the water was way too rough to see them. I might have caught their scent though...

I'm making another run to the beach tomorrow morning, not as early as would be best, but my buddy and I will fish the falling tide.
...
My question to the gallery: what beach should I head for? Seaside, IBSP, even Lavalette would be my preference, while my buddy leans toward points farther north like around Brielle or even farther north. I haven't been to the Hook in a couple years, but that would be fun, too. I just want to catch some stripers of any length at all.

Last week the shorts were consistent at seaside on blue teasers.
12-18 inch size fish just after the bar

I've never heard of blue... Is my leg getting pulled? On the other hand, I could tie a couple tonight.
