NJDave, I'll be with you in spirit.... or maybe ice fishing instead. It's coming on like real winter now.

Bless you all and your families!

Santa didnt bring us a bluefin on Christmas Eve; just a silly good bass bite all on shads.

Two of us had 50+ shorts and 4-5 keepers...back at the dock before 1pm.

Bucktails tipped with 6" EliasvFishing shads helped cull through the smaller fish.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and got what they wanted!

Any beach reports?
Heading out tomorrow for my annual birthday trip in a balmy high of 22 degrees.
Probably will wind up being a short day due to tbis weather but it will be followed up by a nice lunch and a cold beer.

good luck; nice to know there is a friendly group of fellow-lunatics who think going to the beach in weather in the teens with 15+ mph winds is a great idea....can't wait to hear the results

What a better way to spend my birthday on the beach. Me and my 2 other lunatic friends do it every year.
Last few years were much warmer tho and better winter reports were there but hey it's my birthday.

Happy Birthday, Dave

I for one look forward to the cold because ice fishing is becoming one of my favorite activities.

Looks like its going to be an easy decision for me this weekend....battle ice from the spray or drill through it. We are all wired slightly differently! lol

NJDave, Good luck today and Happy Birthday! It's my wife's birthday, too.

I'll bet that those shorts are still banging away at sand eels in the wash.

I've got bait and am headed for my favorite ice fishing venue in Lehigh County, PA.

It was cold, windy, and I am out of my freaking mind.
Until next year.....

Hopefully not my last ice trip of 2017. lol

A little slower than what we are accustomed to on this lake so I guess even the fish were cold this morning. Still finished the morning up with a mix of 18 fish.

My last sand trip this AM. Balmy 14 degrees on the beach at 5:30. No love for me, Just frozen fingertips. Wanted to stay a little longer but after retying after a wind knot I just couldn't take it. I hope the ice pans out a little better for me.

Fished Saturday which was the last trip of 2017 on the boat. This picture really sums up Saturday's trip...Ice, Snow & freezing cold.

I am still in the water and not really sure why at this point...I am even starting to question my own sanity.

I always post the good along with the bad and this tog season has been mostly bad with
a few decent/good days here and there.

At the end of the day, no matter how cold & frustrating tog fishing can be at times, it always keeps us coming back for more.
