Moco Outfront 4p-5p: An hour from the top of outgoing. There was rain with an east wind. Knee high swell no white water with a slight chop. Bottom bounced a 3/4 ounce hopkins with single bucktail. Caught micro bass at will in the trough all safely released, along with a little vicious glass flounder. I somehow missed Bayaker between the raindrops

2nd half of outgoing. Skunk for me, did have a small bass follow then turn back away. My neighbor landed a short bass & a beautiful weakie that took the ride home with us.

NOMOCO out front. 3:30a to 6:00a. Top of the incoming to the turn around. Two bumps on the SP. Missed both.

A passing whale put on an airshow at about 5:00 a.m. Ran parallel to the beach for a while, and breached about 8 times before heading out for deeper water. Very, very cool.

early am; popper; had a fish boil and swirl it 4 times in 6-7 casts; kept at it til it hooked up; was a nice fish; got it in the wash and dropped it; my bad; should have loosed the drag when I realized it was a nice fish but after the poor results lately I lost focus; it broke the surface twice in the fight; I'm guessing maybe 15 lbs but lately thats a big fish here; nothing like a popper getting attention; but this was pilot error...hey, even Ted Williams struck out....did land a short on the same topwater

Checked out Staten Island side of RB yesterday (Thursday) from kayak...6am to 3.30pm...beautiful sunny day with light winds...water temps got over 70F, wow...fished with Roger and Rashid...wanted to get in some fluke action but it was so sloooow...got only two shorts with one being around 18"...a lot of bunker around ...some blues on them ...caught on blue on the popper...low tide in the morning was not the best but it was a nice day to fish in while anyway...

Moco Outfront Dawn patrol with a northwest wind, ankle high swell flat water with texture. Many of the smaller centers consoles were able to make it out front and cover distance quickly. I worked a mile and half stretch thoroughly using casting gear and a high low rig with plastic. In one small depression I caught two short flat ones until an adult seal crashed the potential party. He out fished me then moved on to deeper water. I saw one large striped one caught just at gray light and a large gator soon afterwards. The surfcasters involved soon were swarmed by boats and bunker dunkers. Great day to be out there watching the show!
