Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli is the forgotten man in a now crowded spot behind the plate.

not directly NY but here's a pic of 2 memorable ball players, now both gone on to the great diamond in the sky (not Lucy's either!)

i was at the game today and it was absolutely one of my favorite experiences of all time! jete went 5 for 5 with a homer to left for 3000 and a game winning single in the eighth. was in the first row with my daughter, first section field level past the real expensive seats on the edge of the outfield first base line. face value on our seats was still 225 but got to go free my voice is still shot!

This was one if those days when it just came together.

An unexpected call about tickets to THIS game, easy trip in, fantastic weather, history made, a great game, Mariano closing it out, a breeze getting out. My daughter there.
Said hello (but didn't get the autograph of) Joe Torre.

It was fantastic.. Congrats to el-capitan!

A Baseball Great, and a Fantastic Person, went home to God yesterday:

Gary Carter

Gary Carter won the hearts of Mets fans during the 1986 World Series. Carter is pictured here after Game 5 of the NLCS.

Gary Carter played the first 11 seasons of his career with the Montreal Expos and is in the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.

Ona a related note of the Mets, I hear they will relocate their AAA team to New York City and call them the "Mets", they will play 162 games with an average attendance of 6000 and are saying novenas that they do not lose 100 games
