That's weird however I never let any program self install. I always do the custom install so I can see what changes the new software package wants to make.

The only "issues" I've had with the Safari beta is some missing functionality.

I did a custom install as well as the standard. neither worked well.

i hated not having some of the neat features, web pages didn't remember me, it kept shutting down and sending error reports and i hated the user interface. (probably since i am not an Apple guy at all)

It was a lot faster though.

That was on my XP machine. IE7 runs so nice on this machine I have no need or desire to even try another browser.

My biggest issue is loading items on my taskbar on startup. I'll run the programs i want to run, i do not like any software company giving their wares a free spot on my computer, especially one that is incidious as quicktime or i Tunes.
