The votes are in and it's official: The Subaru Forester has been crowned king of one of the most hotly contested automotive segments in the United States, winning Motor Trend's coveted Golden Calipers as 2014 SUV of the Year.

Once again.........good luck when you finally get behind the wheel.

Thanks bOb....

Consumer reports also had the Forester Rated #1 http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/n...ginMethod=auto

The last time I went by there ratings was in 95 when the Camry was rated # 1 or close to it. I hope I have the same luck with the Forester as I did with the Camry.

We picked up the wifes Forester yesterday and they said it'll still be a few weeks before I get mine.

Keep in mind that the ground clearance is about nine inches. Maine chipmunks are taller than that.

In all seriousness, I have heard few serious criticisms of the Forester. They are popular hereabouts and are a good choice if no towing is involved.

Rob...

We've taken them out a few times for test-drives on country and highway roads along with some other makes. We've spent over a month researching and driving before we made a decision.
I'm sure we'll be very happy with them...

Still, I want to see the gopro footage when you get out on the sand

Still waiting for your report on the beach drive. BTW, my SIL has a 2012 and loves it. Good luck

Thanks Bruce...The wife got hers weeks ago. I?m still waiting for the green one I ordered.
I spoke to the dealer last week and he said it should be in this week or next week. I told him I?m losing money because the Camry is depreciating with all the extra miles I?m putting on while I?m waiting. Almost 320k.

Rob as soon as I get the pass I'll let you guys know.
Can I get the 2014 pass before the end of the year or do I have to wait until after the first of the year?

Just got off the phone with the ranger. She said it might be around the middle of December when I can get it.

Will do...

Not 320k on the Camry, it’s 330k

Finally got it this week.

If any of you gentlemen hear when the Rangers get the passes let me know. I can come down anytime.
I'll see if Frank wants to take a ride down in case I get stuck and Jess has a hard time pulling me out and we need someone to push.
