Thumbs up NJBBA questions (all good)

first, I want to know who owns this buggy?

2nd, I renewed my membership and received a couple of papers about a NJBBA tourney... looks low key and on the honor system? you catch one of the fish, get it weighed and send in the stats? seems to be a few bucks to register, but can't find any other rules about it.

Anyone know anything about it?

3rd, found a fascinating article about the judges shack on the njbba site, written by the judge's daughter.

Does have a reference to SSC's IBSP page, for example, and tons of interesting history about the shack and the park. I haven't finished reading it yet.

NJBBA owns that buggy. The "Mascot".

There are two separate fishing pools for NJBBA members. One is free and open to any member. There is an additional optional money pool that any member can enter. The free one earns a plaque. The money one earns, you guessed it, money. NJBBA doesn't take a cut. All goes into the pool. What is collected gets distributed. There ought to be something in the handbook about it.

There is more information on it under the "club functions" at the top of the NJBBA web page.

Thanks, Bob, I'll check it out!

I think I have the handbook somewhere.

Also thanks for the info on "the mascot", would love to see it.

Mentioned to my wife last night about my hankering for a vintage beach buggy and she was like "WHAT? where would we keep it" me: "over at {my brother in laws}" her: "roll eyes...."

I'm not really serious, but tweaking her and getting her to react (we were hanging out with friends) was fun (guess I'm easily amused after 35 yrs of marriage)

Funny, last year's results: no bluefish!

Also, have to remember the kingfish division for lots of reason, but whenever I catch a king, I tend to cut the head and fish it right there!

People catch a small blue and don't enter it. Either they think it is too small to contend or they just don't think about it.

The Mascot is at most NJBBA show type functions. Not the work sessions usually. There is another one at the Interpretive Center at IBSP that NJBBA maintains for the park.

No. That's Paul Harris, sitting NJBBA president. Bob Lick, former NJBBA president, is driving. Paul restored and maintains the vehicle.

Here's our ironic twist to this thread. When Paul undertook the reclamation and restoration of the Mascot he didn't go it alone. He had the help of NJBBA director Bill Mack. Here it comes. Ready. Bill runs the fish pool for NJBBA that Rob originally inquired about.
